Who we are
Golden Dragon is a family run Chinese takeaway in Catshill. We run this website ourselves rather than through a delivery app, which means your details stay with the shop instead of being passed to a platform. For data protection purposes Golden Dragon is the data controller.

What we collect, and why

| Your Dragon Points balance | Points are held against your phone number so that what you earn at the counter and what you earn online are the same balance. |
| Your computer's IP address and browser | Recorded automatically with each order. It is what lets us tell a real order from an attack on the site. |
We do not collect anything about you that is not on that list, and we do not build a profile of you from anywhere other than your own orders with us.
Card payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number is typed into Stripe's own secure fields and goes straight to them. It never reaches this website and we never see it, store it or have any way to retrieve it. All we are told is whether the payment succeeded and the last four digits, so we can match a payment to an order. Stripe's own privacy policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Signing in with Google or Apple
If you choose to sign in with a Google or Apple account, we receive your name and email address from them so we can create or find your account. We do not receive your password, and we cannot see anything else in that account. You never have to use it: ordering as a guest, or with an email address and password, works the same way.
Who else sees your details
Very few people, and only where the order cannot happen without it:
- Our own staff in the shop, on the till and kitchen screens.
- Our delivery driver, who sees the name, address and phone number for the orders on their run and nothing else.
- Stripe, for card payments.
- Hostinger, who host the website and therefore hold the database on their servers in the United Kingdom.
We do not sell your details, we do not share them for advertising, and we do not pass them to any delivery platform or marketing company.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years, because HMRC requires business records to be kept for that long. Your account details and points balance are kept for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account we will do so, keeping only the bare order records we are legally obliged to hold.
Cookies
The website uses a small number of cookies that make it work: one that remembers what is in your basket, one that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers you have seen the cookie notice. There are no advertising cookies and no third party tracking on this site.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, or stop using it in a particular way. You can also ask for a copy of it in a portable form. Call the shop or email the address above and we will deal with it. It costs you nothing and we will reply within one month.
If you think we have got it wrong and we have not put it right, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

If we change how any of this works we will change this page, and the date at the top will tell you when.
